Have you been curious about acupuncture? Wondering if this method is right for you? Years of ancient wisdom and time-tested techniques have supported the body’s natural ability to restore balance, ease discomfort, and improve overall well-being. Acupuncture works by gently encouraging your body’s own healing responses, meeting you where you are and supporting change over time.

Acupuncture is a wonderful modality, not only for recovery, but for preventative care. At Hub City Acupuncture, we take pride in offering thoughtful, individualized treatments that support your body’s natural ability to heal, regulate, and maintain balance over time. Here are a few words from members of our community who have experienced this care firsthand.
I’d had long Covid symptoms for a couple of years. Memory issues, foggy brain and depression. I kept thinking they would eventually go away and I’d be back to my old self but it just got worse. I was suffering and so was my marriage. I felt I was losing my mind. I’ve never been much of a crier until this happened. I eat pretty healthy, take supplements, exercise but I just could not get out of my funk. Acupuncture saved me. Dr. Beth Fowler has treated me twice a week for six weeks and I feel like a new person. She is so caring and gentle. Dr. Fowler also put me on an oral supplement of amazing Chinese herbs that are superb! I’ve come a long way from a life of near despair. I highly recommend Dr. Fowler.
Dr. Beth Fowler's treatments have made such a big impact on my life. I went in for a variety of symptoms: period issues, perimenopause, sleep. I have seen improvement with every symptom.
I've been seeing Dr. Fowler for about two months now and have loved every second of it! I have already seen changes in my cycle, stress, anxiety, and tension! She listens at every visit and makes me feel comfortable at every session. I can't recommend enough!!
Dr. Fowler has been treating my mom for about a month now since her Bell's Palsy diagnosis. We have been coming regularly and my mom has felt better since she has begun her acupuncture treatments. She has also been receiving treatments for other concerns like pain in her arms and hands and the pain has gone down significantly. Dr. Fowler has been amazing over all and she has really taken the time to get to know my mom’s needs and help treat her.

Hi there! I am Dr. Beth Fowler, a native of Gaffney, South Carolina. I hold a dual Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and have spent over a decade teaching yoga, with a deep focus on the mind body spirit connection. I also have a degree in Business Administration, and I am thrilled to be using it!My desire to help people through their health journeys began with my own experience of grief. I lost my mom to cancer when I was 21, and that loss became a turning point in my life. It was during that time that I found yoga. What started as a way to navigate emotions became a practice that grounded me, challenged me, and eventually called me to teach. To give back to others the way I was so gratefully given.Supporting others as they navigated their own obstacles gave my work meaning and direction.Over time, I felt drawn toward something more personal and intuitive. After exploring different paths, acupuncture felt like the natural next step. Trusting that intuition led me somewhere I could not have anticipated. In 2020, I began my dual degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, North Carolina and had the honor of studying under the 88th-generation Daoist priest, Jeffrey Yuen.My approach to care is centered on treating the whole picture. We often focus on symptoms or the branch while the root is overlooked. Chinese Medicine allows us to look at the whole person and address underlying patterns through tools like tongue and pulse diagnosis. My goal is to offer thoughtful, individualized care that supports long term balance, regulation, and healing.

Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, much thinner than needles used for injections. While you may feel a brief sensation upon insertion, it is typically mild and short-lived. Most people feel very little when the needles are placed. Sensations can include warmth, heaviness, tingling, or a dull ache, all normal signs the body is responding. Many patients find treatment deeply relaxing.
how often should i come in?
This depends on your condition, how long it’s been present, and your goals. Some people notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a series of treatments over time. Some people feel shifts after the first visit; others notice gradual changes over several sessions. Responses are unique to each person.
what do i wear?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Needles are commonly placed on the arms, legs, abdomen, and back. You will always be properly draped.
how long do sessions last?
Initial visits are typically longer to allow time for a thorough intake and treatment. Follow-up visits are usually shorter. Treatment time with needles is often around 30-50 minutes.
how does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by gently stimulating specific points on the body to support the nervous system, circulation, and the body’s natural ability to heal and regulate. By encouraging balance rather than forcing change, acupuncture helps the body respond more effectively to stress, pain, and imbalance over time.
do you accept insurance?
Hub City Acupuncture does not currently accept insurance.
who can get acupuncture?
Acupuncture is safe and appropriate for people of all ages, from children to older adults. Treatments are tailored to the individual, making acupuncture a supportive option for a wide range of health concerns, life stages, and levels of sensitivity.
are there any side effects?
Side effects from acupuncture are typically mild and temporary. Some people may experience slight soreness, bruising, fatigue, or emotional release after treatment. Most patients feel relaxed and well afterward.
